We are looking for a Biomedical Technician to join Biomedical technology services (BTS). BTS provides a comprehensive health technology management, service and support capability to Hospital and Health Services and other parts of Queensland Health through the state-wide delivery of biomedical engineering, diagnostic medical physics, and radiology support services. You will be an integral part of a team delivering technical services including repairs, planned maintenance and other technology support services to ensure the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.

What you'll do

• Deliver routine technical services under the general supervision of more senior practitioners (including installations, commissioning, repairs, and preventive maintenance).
• Accurately document maintenance activities in the relevant information systems.
• Assist more senior practitioners with the management of locally based resources including spare parts, manuals and test equipment.
• More senior practitioners at the HP2 classification may be responsible for quality of work output, training and support of fellow team members, and supervision of small work groups.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

• An Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification(s) in the field of Engineering.
• The licences, certifications and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas, or willingness and ability to make significant progress towardsobtaining such during the first 6 months of employment. For example: Restricted Electrical Work Licence. 
• Knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.
• Ability to apply established methods and procedures in completing routine technical tasks (such as the installation, maintenance and development of health technology or similar equipment) as well as ability to complete more complex tasks under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.
• Willingness to provide guidance and support to students and less experienced practitioners.
