About the Division
Corporate Services Division provides a range of specialised performance enabling functions that supports QRA to meet its compliance obligations, operate efficiently and achieve its strategic priorities.
About the Role
The Principal Advisor, Assurance will work closely to support the Manager (Assurance) and Corporate Services leadership to provide assurance over project funding submissions for a suite of disaster recovery and resilience grants administered by QRA. The Principal Advisor, Assurance will also play a key role in coordinating the delivery of targeted assurance and internal audit programs of work and supporting business improvement activities.
- Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders that contribute to or have necessary involvement in QRA's assurance functions, including working closely with QRA Corporate and Program Delivery teams to enhance processes and coordinate regular assurance for business as usual reporting and reporting of outcomes of program fraud enquiries from partner agencies and internal to QRA.
- Conduct operational assurance reviews on QRA funded projects in accordance with program funding guidelines using risk-based methodologies.
- Support the delivery of acquittal data for key processes such as quarterly revenue estimates and annual claim processes with the commonwealth.
- Lead QRA Internal Audit activities including small programs of work tied to artefacts like QRA's annual DRFA claim, Strategic and Operational risk register and Quarterly Review outcomes.
- Develop operational guidelines for Assurance team to undertake targeted programs of work (i.e. on-cost reviews; duplicates) and coordinate the delivery of these annually.
- Champion Assurance business improvement initiatives and projects, including opportunities in AI and implementing management actions in relation to recommendations raised in annual audits.
- Present and negotiate audit and/or internal review findings and recommendations to Senior Management and key stakeholder where required.
- Ensure that QRA processes and procedures comply with legislation, accounting and auditing standards, funding guidelines and relevant internal policies.
- Support the Manager, Assurance with business as usual and project work as required.
- This role formally reports to Manager, Assurance and has reporting responsibilities to functional leads including Director, Corporate and the Chief Finance Officer.
