The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission's Thoroughbred Racing Team is currently seeking a Racing Steward for the Toowoomba Region.
We're looking for someone who brings strong knowledge of the Rules of Racing, well-developed analytical and decision-making skills, and a genuine commitment to ethical conduct.
The ideal candidate will also be able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and help ensure high-quality, compliant race day operations.

You will be responsible for directing and managing race day officials at race meetings. Race day officials include: (judges, starters, clerk of scales, sample collection officials, veterinarians and barrier staff.) The position requires strong communication and relationship management capabilities, to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
What you will bring to the role
Expert knowledge of the Rules of Racing, analytical and decision-making skills, a commitment to ethical behaviour, and the ability collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, compliant race day operations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong understanding of the Rules of Racing and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations, including high-profile and high-risk race meetings.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical behaviour.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, particularly in research, intelligence, and compliance activities.
- Knowledge of WHS principles and practice, especially with racing animals.
