About the role
Permanent and temporary opportunities to;
- Contribute to the provision of a safe and effective hospital pharmacy service that is aligned to organisational goals and values, best practice, professional standards and legislative requirements.
- Undertake technical and support tasks under the supervision of senior Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacists, including medicines distribution, stock management, product preparation, prescription processing and associated activities
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide professional, courteous, and efficient customer service to hospital patients and staff by upholding organisational values and code of conduct.
- Manage patient/staff enquiries including confirmation of patient/staff identification, screening submitted prescriptions for validity, retrieving dispensed medicines and advising of prescription wait times.
- Assist with the preparation of prescriptions in line with legislative, PBS and local procedures under the supervision of a pharmacist. This includes the management of up-to-date patient information such as Medicare, concession and safety net details.
- Process invoice payments for prescriptions in accordance with departmental procedures.
