About the role
- Provide professional expertise and services as required for the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and Metro North Hospital and Health Service through the Department of Anaesthesia and Peri-operative Medicine in the areas of clinical anaesthesia, teaching, research and quality. There is a requirement to provide out of hours on call duty and overtime as appropriate. The development of special interest areas is to be encouraged.

- The position(s) will attract an academic title with the University of Queensland at the appropriate level C, D or E dependent upon the level of research and degree(s) held by the applicant
About you
- Clinical and technical expertise with appropriate knowledge, skills and ability to deliver quality specialist care in anaesthesia and peri-operative medicine and a dedication to innovation of healthcare practices focused on maximising patient outcomes within Metro North.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills particularly with a focus on patient needs and the ability to work with and lead other staff from all disciplines.
- Commitment to the principles of quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance.
- Commitment to and experience in the process of creating and maintaining educational excellence.
- Commitment to research including a personal commitment to continuing research involvement.
- Sound knowledge at a Medical Professional level of human resource issues, and how they impinge on contemporary medical practice.
- A collaborative team player and colleague who can work closely with others in a team-oriented setting.
- An open, flexible person who can deal with ambiguity and change.
- A person of integrity, who is confident, secure, relaxed and positive in their approach to issues and people.
- A colleague who focuses on patient and staff wellbeing alike.
