About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to provide advanced level clinical review and advice on the management of inpatients and outpatients with complex clinical presentations referred from throughout the State. Lead and co-ordinate the delivery of advanced occupational therapy services in the Plastics and Reconstructive surgery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead evidence-based reviews and undertake service improvement and planning at the Occupational Therapy department including the provision of professional leadership and change management skills in the development and knowledge translation of evidence based clinical practices, procedures, protocols, and education materials to advance occupational therapy services and professional standards.
- Independently develop, monitor, and report on RBWH Plastic and Reconstructive Services by accurately and concisely recording all patient interactions and workload measurement statistics to facilitate the analysis of service trends, actively influence practice change and contribute to service and caseload management and planning within the team.
- Apply advanced-level communication and interpersonal skills to advocate for acute management of plastic and reconstructive surgery and in working collaboratively with patients and their families, multidisciplinary team members across the continuum of care to facilitate integrated management, ensure optimal service provision, enhance health outcomes, and meet the needs and priorities of RBWH inpatients, the community, Queensland Health, and relevant stakeholders within and outside the profession and facility.
