About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to deliver high-level and quality, evidence based clinical psychology services to adolescents (aged 14-17 years inclusive) with severe and complex mental health disorders requiring hospital-based assessment and treatment. The role provides leadership within the multidisciplinary team and care is delivered with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Ensure consumers, carers and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds
- Provision of high-level assessment, treatment, risk management, case co-ordination and discharge facilitation to adolescents and their families/carers who present to an acute inpatient service due to severe and complex mental health problems.
- Provide high-level consultation and clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, operational managers, public and private clinicians in either community or inpatient settings, to assist them to undertake assessment and management of adolescents with complex mental health disorders and to provide support to their carers.
- Provide clinical leadership and input into the development and evaluation of care provided to young people with severe and complex mental health problems.
