About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of cleaning, patient assistance, and porterage services within the Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Burns Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). The role ensures services are delivered to a high standard, supporting clinical functions and patient care. This position manages approximately 64 staff, including Theatre Support Officers (OO3), Patient Support Officers (OO2), and an afternoon shift Coordinator (OO4).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Monitor service standards and respond to emerging operational challenges, prioritising patient safety and staff wellbeing.
- Facilitate the annual Performance and Development (PAD) process, ensuring constructive feedback, skill development, and succession planning are in place.
- Support the delivery and uptake of Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Support), including facilitation with internal and external assessors.
- Monitor stock levels and cleaning equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and replacement to minimise disruption to service.
