About us:

Rockhampton Hospital, a 305-bed facility and Central Queensland's main referral center, offers integrated cancer care with modern equipment. It receives patients from regional hospitals like Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, and Biloela for specialized treatment. The hospital collaborates with universities for medical and nursing education, emphasizing local workforce development through registrar training and partnerships. Specialty services include Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Psychiatry, and Surgery, supplemented by visiting tertiary hospital services.

About the role:

  • Respond to inquiries and assist staff, patients, and visitors to ensure smooth service delivery in a hospital. Support nursing and medical teams by coordinating patient movements, optimizing patient flow throughout the facility.
  • Assist with patient discharges and transfers through timely coordination of all required paperwork, transport and updating of hospital information systems.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments and use computer-based systems with expertise for data entry, word processing and spreadsheets where required.
  • Prioritise workload effectively and perform duties responsibly in the absence of supervision.

About you:

  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self directed manner while contributing to patient flow.
  • Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital information systems.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $47,405 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $37.68 - $41.90 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
