The Central Sterilisation Department is a highly productive environment, where you will take part in the sterilisation of contaminated reusable medical devices, working within a close team to provide high quality services.

A Certificate III in Sterilising Services is a mandatory, consideration may be given to applicants who can provide proof of actively and progressively studying towards completion of the Certificate III

About us:

The Central Sterilisation Department (CSD) is a critical service to the Rockhampton Hospital, reprocessing high volumes of reusable surgical instruments and other patient care related equipment daily. CSD functions within a team focused environment, to maintain objectives in productivity, which contributes directly to the continuum of patient care.

About the role:

The Enrolled Nurse in the Central Sterilising Department provides comprehensive, evidence-based, delegated reprocessing/sterilising practices under the supervision/indirectly of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse CSD reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager of the Central Sterilising Department.

  • Adheres to organisational policy and procedures, service quality standards, occupational health and safety, infection control principles and other relevant procedures to ensure high quality, safe services, and a productive workplace.
  • Accountable for the timely completion of mandatory and role specific training relevant to the workplace setting; this includes Easi-Sterilise and unit level competency packages.

About you:

Mandatory qualifications/requirements: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory.

  • A Certificate III in Sterilising Services is a mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Consideration may be given to applicants who can provide proof of actively and progressively studying towards completion of the Certificate III.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $72,639 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.92 - $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
