The Senior Physiotherapist - Paediatrics will be instrumental in delivering paediatric services to Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mount Morgan. The primary focus of paediatric service delivery will be Special Care Nursery, acute paediatrics, paediatric outpatients and multidisciplinary child development services. The role will have supervision and mentoring from Queensland Children’s Hospital, with the option for three of the first 12 months to be undertaken at QCH with the physiotherapy team. There is an opportunity to support the multidisciplinary model of care development and provide clinical training to less experienced physiotherapists in paediatric physiotherapy.

About us:

Physiotherapy involves a holistic approach to the prevention, assessment and therapeutic management disorders of movement or optimisation of function to enhance the health and welfare of the community.

Central Queensland (CQ) Health offers a comprehensive physiotherapy service across the lifespan to support patients through their acute hospital admission, recovery following discharge or when accessing other specialist outpatient services. Our physiotherapists work in hospital and community facilities across Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton regions.

About the role:

The Physiotherapist Senior delivers high level Physiotherapy services of a varied nature to patients of the Rockhampton Hospital and other client groups of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). This position is required to exercise a high level of independence and represent Physiotherapy on relevant committees or portfolio(s).  

The Physiotherapist Senior acts as a resource person by leading quality improvement, research, and service development of clinical areas consistent with Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) and Queensland Health State-wide initiatives and strategic directions.

About you:

  • Appointment to this position requires mandatory possession of Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Whilst not mandatory, post graduate qualifications in a relevant practice area is highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
