The Psychologist Senior (Prison Mental Health Services) provides high level clinical services and leadership within the multidisciplinary Prison Mental Health Service (PMHS) team. The role is responsible for forensic mental health care through timely and responsive service provision required to meet the objectives of the PMHS.

About us:
The Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, in addition being the location of Acute Adult Inpatient facilities and an Adult Community Care Unit.
About the role:
- Deliver high level clinical and forensic psychology services to adult patients of the PMHS.
- Provide professional leadership, consultation, supervision, and clinical input utilising a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of forensic psychology and forensic mental health.
- Contribute to the training of staff, skill development and the development and review of training, research, policy, and clinical practice guidelines relevant to the provision of psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions.
About you:
The successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate.
While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.
- The possession of an Australian Psychological Society (APS) accredited postgraduate qualification in clinical or forensic psychology and/or an endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology would be highly regarded.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
