The Nursing Director of Patient Flow is responsible for leading clinical services in Rockhampton to ensure smooth patient movement and a positive, person-cantered nursing environment, including ambulatory care. Develop and implement systems to manage patient demand across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, and Mount Morgan, while also overseeing the Patient Access and Coordination Hub (PACH) within CQ Health. You will collaborate with various health services and emergency services to facilitate timely patient care, providing expert advice through data analysis and best practices, and driving innovative care models across the region.

About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland.  Specialist Medical Services offered at Rockhampton Hospital include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. Rockhampton Hospital will play an important role in achieving the objectives set out in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy. 

About the role:

The Nursing Director Patient Flow is to operationally manage, and lead Rockhampton based clinical services that promote and impact directly upon a seamless patient flow and a positive nursing practice environment that is person centred in its approach inclusive of ambulatory services. The Nursing Director Patient Flow will lead the development and implementation of systems and processes to improve patient demand management across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mount Morgan Hospital Group (RCMG).

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate diploma or Masters degree will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrates evidence which fosters the reputation of CQ Health; takes ownership and personal accountability; for the standards of care for the directorate and demonstrates a commitment to and pride in the services delivered at Rockhampton Hospital, applies appropriate priorities, negotiation skills and effective time management.
  • Proven ability to communicate relevant, prompt and accurate information; is approachable and resourceful in working with senior colleagues and peers; uses good judgement in prioritising courses of action and is respectful to co-workers and customers.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $198,959 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate of $87.94 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
