About us:

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service has become an accredited provider of the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) Program. This program provides an alternative pathway for international medical graduates to gain General Registration in Australia through a series of workplace-based assessments rather than through the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Clinical Examination.

About the role:

The purpose of the WBA Clinical Lead is to provide overall clinical expert advice and management of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) WBA Program. The role has financial responsibility of the WBA Program ongoing costs and candidate performance rates, which informs annual reporting requirements to the AMC.

About you:

  • MBBS and hold general / specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    • Appointed as a Senior Medical Officer.
  • The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Specialists and Non-Specialist Senior Medical Officers on staff. This is reviewed on a three-yearly basis. Your qualifications and certified skills and competencies determine the scope of clinical practice you will be granted and subsequently your position title and salary status.

Total fortnightly remuneration value of up to $4,050 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $91.84 - $12.51 p.a. (L13-L25)
  • An hourly rate between $100.78 - $127.77 p.a. (L18-L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
