About the role:

The Emergency Preparedness Manager provides strategic and operational leadership and management to support and advance emergency preparedness and disaster planning across the Central Queensland Health (CQ Health).

An emergency is any internal or external emergency which endangers or threatens to endanger health and safety, property, or the environment. Emergency preparedness is about making sure the CQ Health has the resources, tools, and the capability to respond to any events.

  • Develop and maintain an integrated approach to the delivery of emergency preparedness across CQ Health.
  • Provide oversight for Emergency Response Plans, processes, procedures, policy, data collection and resource management for emergency response across CQ Health.
  • Expand CQ Health capacity for Disaster Management through exercises, training and education for staff and provide strategic direction for Disaster Planning including but not limited to prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Provide operational leadership and management through the provision of priorities for Disaster Management utilising the Queensland disaster management arrangements and guidelines and any the Queensland Health policies and directions for Disaster Management for health services.

About you:

While not mandatory, a qualification in emergency preparedness and experience in working within the Queensland state disaster management arrangements and guideline for disaster management in Queensland would be highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $166,569 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $68.60 - $73.62 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
