About us:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service provide assistance to people under 18 years of age and their family or carers. CYMHS aims to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of emotional and mental health disorders in children and young people. Outreach services are provided to Woorabinda, Capricorn Coast and Mount Morgan.
About the role:
The Indigenous Advanced Health Worker will work in partnership with the Child and Youth Mental Health Service team to deliver high quality child and youth mental health and Alcohol and Other Drugs care. The position works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting to deliver culturally appropriate services to first nation consumers and the community.
You will also contribute to Closing the Gap Key Performance Indicators as underpinned by Queensland Health Making Tracks towards closing the gap in health outcomes for Indigenous Queenslanders by 2033.
About you:
- Hold a Certificate IV or Diploma in the following:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, or
- Mental Health, or
- Alcohol and Other Drugs, or
- Mental Health Peer Work.

- Under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $114,355 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39.27 - $50.54 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
