Administration Officer (Operational Support Services)

Are you ready to step into a busy administrative role within a demanding but rewarding hospital environment? We’re looking for a dynamic and organised Administration Officer to support the Operational Support Services team until June 2026.
In this role, you'll be the go-to person for managing daily administrative tasks, supporting our management team, and helping keep our hospital operations running smoothly. You'll handle a variety of duties from answering reception calls and preparing important documents to coordinating meetings and managing schedules.

About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment.
The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transfer patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation. Rockhampton Hospital provides training for Medical Students participating in University of Queensland – Central Queensland Rural Clinical School and has links with the Central Queensland University for Nursing and Health Studies.
About the role:
The Administration Officer will manage the day-to-day administrative activities, assist and provide support to the management team and staff within Operational Services in the hospital setting.
About you:
- Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-directed manner.
- Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Possession of high level written, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond effectively and immediately in emergency situations, by following internal procedures and protocols.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $8,138 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $38.81 - $43.16 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
