About us:
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service works in collaboration with the Adult Mental Health Inpatient and Acute Care Teams, Primary Health as well as community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.
About the role:
- Deliver direct care to consumers including those with complex care needs, ensuring clinical care is evidence based and that consumers' rights are upheld.
- Ensure that appropriate communication is achieved so that mental health care is integrated across inpatient and community settings.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, external referral sources, consumers and visitors to promote consumer focus and involvement that meets the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
- Provide shift coordination and leadership into the operations of Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU), to deliver a high level of care is to consumers.
- Identify and minimise risks to patients, employees, volunteers, visitors and the organisation.
About you:
- Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience in Mental Health would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrate a level of clinical person-centred care and an effective level of clinical skills and knowledge, competence and experience within the scope of practice.
- Demonstrates collaborative teamwork and decision making, empathy, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $121,106 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
