About us:

The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff, to facilitate the achievement of best practice health service delivery requirements. The Education and Research Unit is led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research.

About the role:

This role provides advanced practice level design, implementation, and assessment of simulation education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to simulation educational issues across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

The position provides Simulation education to clinical staff to enhance positive patient outcomes in the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. The position monitors, plans, facilitates and evaluates the Health Service's simulation pocket centre network.

About you:

A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification at an AQF level 9 in which clinical education was a large component or a research higher degree is a requirement of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion of the required post-graduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance review process.
  • A Simulation certification (for example Clinical Skills development Centre Fundamentals of debriefing and Technical Simulation training) is highly desirable for the position.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,105 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
