Advance Health Worker (Maternal and Child Health)

We’re seeking an Advanced Health Worker to fulfil an exciting opportunity to improve the health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

This temporary full-time position involves delivering culturally safe child health services, including assessments, immunisations, and health promotion, while working closely with families and community partners. The role requires a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and a commitment to cultural safety, confidentiality, and quality care.

About us:

The Adnulla Nulla service provides a culturally safe and appropriate child and family health service for children from birth to 12 years, parents/carers, and their families. Service scope include:

  • Child health clinics for growth and development health assessments
  • Hearing and Vision assessments
  • Health promotion and health education activities
  • Immunisation clinic
  • Hearing clinic
  • Indigenous school hearing program
  • Indigenous paediatrics clinic

About the role:

To advance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Parents, Children and young people and their families using a Primary Health Care Model that incorporates a multi-disciplinary, collaborative care planning approach to meet the individual and family needs working with minimal supervision, with full accountabilities and delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide a high standard of care.

About you:

  • Possession of a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or working towards the Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • Experience in, hearing health, child and family health and health promotion would be well regarded but not essential.
  • Under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $9,530 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $37.87 - $50.54 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
