Provide high quality, effective, efficient, professional and confidential executive and administrative support to the Executive Director of Workforce. Our team are seeking a driven individual to backfill in this role until February 2026!

The Executive Support Officer will manage and organise all aspects of the office including managing the workload priorities and commitments of the Executive Director. You will perform duties including but not limited to providing professional frontline/reception services by screening of telephone calls, electronic and written correspondence, including departmental briefs and ministerial related requests for information and unscheduled requests.

About us:

The Executive Services team is responsible for providing high level, quality, professional and confidential executive and administrative services to the Office of the Health Service Chief Executive and members of the Executive Management Team to support the achievement of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service's (CQHHS's) vision to deliver Great Care for Central Queenslanders.

About the role:

  • Provide secretariat support to a range of high-level committees by providing agenda preparation, minuting functions and then carry out designated actions and follow up on the outcomes being sought.
  • Undertake special projects and assignments (including internal audits and investigations) as required by the Executive Director/Officer or Manager, Executive Services.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally) to facilitate interaction between the Executive Director/Officer and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including other executive and senior officers.
  • Work with other Executive Services support officers to provide effective coverage of the office/s in times of leave and during peak workloads.
  • Provide timely and appropriate responses to issues through the examination and research of matters on behalf of the Executive Director/Officer, including making appropriate decisions and recommendations within the boundaries of responsibilities.
  • Exercise judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures are not defined.
  • Work autonomously and use discretion in the absence of the Executive Director/Officer and members of the Executive Management Team in the resolution of issues, to meet work priorities and set deadlines.

About you:

While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $9,515 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
