As a Speech Therapist Senior for EVOLVE, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across a multidisciplinary specialist professional team operating across three Child and Youth Mental Health Service sites, Rockhampton, Gladstone, and Emerald.

About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas, with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016,  support for accreditation and implementation of programs.

Child and Youth Mental Health Service provides complex secondary and tertiary level health care and offers specialised Mental Health services for families with children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services.

About the role:

  • Provide professional judgement, advice, assessments, and reports to contribute to and participate in multidisciplinary case management. Assessment formulation and timely and appropriate treatment interventions, consistent with current best practice.
  • Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence, to a complex caseload, and contribute to the development of best practice services within the Evolve Therapeutic Services Team.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage a complex clinical caseloads and independent clinical practice and provide advocacy for consumers and their families/carers.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively to provide referral, liaison, and interagency collaborative care planning within a multidisciplinary team and as a member of specific discipline group to achieve best practice outcomes for consumers and carers.

About you:

The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology and be eligible for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia.

While not mandatory a Post graduate tertiary qualification relevant to the position is highly desired.

  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $78,679 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
