About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and Central Highlands districts and adult patients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000).
Rockhampton is the principal service centre for this area and as such provides the medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, training for RANZCP trainees, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams.
About the role:
Provide high quality psychiatry services to consumers of the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team. The position may also be required to provide services to: Gladstone, Biloela, Blackwater, Emerald and Moura Hospitals; Woorabinda Health Service and Outreach Clinic; Gemfields Outreach Clinic; Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service and Outreach Clinic, and the associated Mental Health clinics.
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
- The position requires a candidate with a solid background in psychiatric practice. The successful candidate will also demonstrate extensive skills in facilitating effective mental health care across the continuum of Forensic Mental Health across, Prison, Court, Watch House inpatient and community settings and within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
- A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
