About us:

This is your opportunity to join Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services (CQHHS) Cardiology Services. Cardiac Services are undergoing major development and expansion of services to become a regional cardiac centre of excellence and major referral hub for Central Queensland region.

Based in Rockhampton, the Cardiology Service adopts a multidisciplinary model in delivering an integrated specialist care across the care continuum. Our Cardiology team provides a range of diagnostic and procedural services for patients with suspected or established cardiac conditions, including Echocardiography, Stress Imaging, Cardiac Computed Tomography, Heart Failure Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation Services, and Chest Pain Assessment Services.

About the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is an experienced Registered Nurse responsible for leading the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Service (CCLS). They oversee planning, management, and evaluation of patient care, including staffing, finances, quality, safety, compliance, and education, ensuring best practice standards. The NUM manages daily operations and a nursing team—comprising Nurse Educator, Clinical Facilitator, Clinical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Assistants in Nursing—to support service and organizational goals. This role is vital for establishing and maintaining the CCLS, providing clinical leadership and education to ensure its success.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent.
    • Minimum three years recent clinical nursing experience in interventional cardiology and nursing leadership experience.
  • A relevant post graduate certificate or post graduate diploma of Cardiac Nursing or equivalent is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
