The Clinical Nurse collaborates closely with the Cardiac Services Nurse Unit Manager to deliver expert clinical care to patients undergoing Cardiac Rehabilitation and managing Heart Failure. This role involves providing specialist, ongoing care for patients with complex needs, both inpatient and outpatient, to ensure adherence to best practices and achieve high-quality outcomes.

About us:

Cardiac Services provides both inpatient and outpatient cardiac care to the community of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. This includes providing critical care in the Coronary Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation education and exercise programs, specialist Heart Failure outpatient services and rehabilitation, cardiac nurse in the Cardiac Investigations Unit and providing the Chest Pain Assessment Service for the Emergency Department intermediate risk chest pain patients. Cardiac Services staff act as a resource for patients, relatives and hospital staff seeking knowledge and information about cardiovascular disease, cardiac disorders, heart failure and risk factors for heart disease.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (Nurse Grade 6.1) works collaboratively with the Cardiac Services Nurse Unit Manger (NUM) to deliver an expert clinical service to Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure patients. The Clinical Nurse will provide specialist care for patients requiring ongoing complex care particularly with inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Failure needs to ensure best practice and high-quality outcomes.

About you:

  • Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
    • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
    • Advanced Life Support
    • Intravenous Cannulation
    • Advanced ECG Interpretation
    • Advanced cardiac assessment skills

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $89,552 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
