About us:

Social Workers recognise the impact of the socioeconomic, cultural, psychological and political determinants on a person's health and overall wellbeing. Social work focuses on enhancing a person's social and emotional functioning through targeted specialised interventions and mobilising services and supports.

Our Social Workers work in hospital and community facilities across Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton regions.

About the role:

To provide clinical expertise across the broad continuum of health, leadership, and professional supervision within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), and support daily operational management for Social Work services within Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mt Morgan business unit. These duties are conducted in accordance with Queensland Health, CQHHS and departmental goals, and in consultation with the Director of Social Work and Professional/Team Leads across CQHHS.

About you:

  • Possession of a degree qualification in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
    • Applicants must not have any ethical matters outstanding that may otherwise preclude eligibility for professional membership with the AASW.
    • Overseas applicants must obtain a letter from the AASW confirming eligibility for professional membership and provide a copy with their position application.
    • The successful applicant must maintain their continuing professional development at a level that would at least meet the accreditation standards of the AASW. As Social Work is a self-regulated profession the successful applicant is required to participate in Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service credentialing and defining scope of clinical practice processes.
    • The successful applicant is required to uphold the AASW Practice Standards 2013 and, if applicable, the AASW Practice Standards for Mental Health Social Workers 2014 and abide by the AASW Code of Ethics.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $172,615 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $73.12 - $76.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
