About us:

Cardiac Services provides both inpatient and outpatient cardiac care to the community of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). This includes providing critical care in the Coronary Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation education and exercise programs, specialist Heart Failure outpatient services and rehabilitation, cardiac nurse in the Cardiac Investigations Unit and providing the Chest Pain Assessment Service (CPAS) for the Emergency Department (ED) intermediate risk chest pain patients. Cardiac Services staff act as a resource for patients, relatives and hospital staff seeking knowledge and information about cardiovascular disease, cardiac disorders, heart failure and risk factors for heart disease.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and is responsible for a specific patient population and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to the Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN) and other non-registered nursing personnel. The Clinical Nurse follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, practice and services and workplaces.

About you:

  • Must hold a Nursing Qualification with a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma of Cardiac Nursing or equivalent is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 -$58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
