In this role, you will play an important hands-on role in supporting the efficient, effective, and compliant delivery of procurement and contract management services across the organisation. This position sits within RSHQ's centralised Procurement team and makes a direct contribution to the success of the agency's operations by offering trusted procurement advice, coordinating administrative activities, and ensuring that all procurement-related records and documentation meet the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

The Procurement function plays a vital role in supporting operational delivery across the agency by ensuring that all goods, services, and contracts procured by RSHQ meet government policy, probity expectations, and value-for-money requirements.

The Operational Procurement Officer plays an essential role in supporting RSHQ's mission by ensuring the agency has timely and compliant access to the goods and services it needs to operate. From the purchase of field equipment or personal protective gear for inspectors, to supporting contract renewals for specialised industry training or accommodation—each procurement activity has a real and measurable impact on the effectiveness of RSHQ's operations.

In this role, you are not just processing transactions—you are enabling regulatory impact by making sure procurement runs efficiently, that internal clients are well supported, and that the organisation's procurement records are ready for review and audit at any time.

The role is also instrumental in building the procurement maturity of the agency. By delivering clear, accessible advice and practical tools to non-procurement staff, you contribute to a more capable, informed, and confident workforce. This allows the organisation to operate more independently while still maintaining the necessary checks, balances, and accountability required by government.

The role description will outline any qualifications, licences and specific requirements of the role. If you are interested in this job we encourage you to read the attached role description and talk to the contact officer.
