Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is seeking Regional Inspectors of Mines (Coal) to lead regional offices of inspectors dedicated to the safety and health of coal mine workers and persons affected by resources operations.

Are you a skilled and experience people manager who can lead a multi-skilled team of inspectors to deliver work programs effectively and efficiently; use evidence to make sound decisions and solve problems; and foster a culture of respect and collaboration across teams?

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Inspector (Coal), the Regional Inspector of Mines (Coal) is a key leadership role within the coal mines inspectorate, responsible for coordinating and delivering the work program of the regional office, in cooperation with the Chief Inspector and Deputy Chief Inspector and RSHQ's senior leadership team.

We are looking for someone:

• With excellent people management and leadership capability and experience, who can motivate teams to develop and deliver work programs (including audits and inspections) efficiently and to high standards, while developing capability and a culture of respect within the team.
• Who is collaborative and able to work across boundaries; and communicate and influence effectively to solve problems.
• Who can make high-quality, evidence-based decisions under pressure, based on risk.
• Strong stakeholder management experience including the ability to communicate with influence, build relationships and negotiate respectfully.
• A written and verbal communication style that listens to understand and imparts key messages with a clear, concise and professional approach.
• With demonstrated ability in developing recommendations and implementing change strategies to deliver quality service/operational outcomes, and improvements to business systems policies and processes.
• With strong financial acumen.
• With well developed, evidence-based understanding of challenges and issues impacting safety and health performance in the resources sector.
