Join the Mine Safety Technology Research Centre (MSTRC) at Simtars and help develop innovative technology that improves safety across Queensland's mining and resources industry. Working with engineers and scientists, you'll design, build, maintain and commission specialised electrical systems used in cutting-edge research, testing and emergency response.
What you'll do
- Design, install, maintain and repair specialised electrical equipment.
- Support research and testing projects with practical electrical expertise.
- Diagnose faults and maintain plant, facilities and infrastructure.
- Contribute to industrial emergency response, including supporting 3D laser scanning deployments and time-critical technical operations.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, scientists and technical teams while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
What you'll bring
- Experience in electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Electrical Fitter Mechanic licence (highly desirable).
- Current C Class driver's licence.
- Experience in mining, research or heavy industry is an advantage.
