Resources Safety and Health Queensland is seeking an Administration Officer to support the Coal Mines Inspectorate in its aim to achieve Zero Serious Harm for Queensland's resource workers.

In this role, you will be part of a team providing high-quality administrative support through the delivery of key operational tasks and the provision of comprehensive, timely, and accurate information to internal stakeholders, other agencies, industry representatives, and members of the public.

About the Role
This role provides critical administrative and operational support to the Coal Inspectorate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include managing travel arrangements for a geographically dispersed workforce, coordinating events, forums and workshops across the region, and providing direct support to facilitators to ensure successful delivery. The role is also responsible for managing assets, portable and attractive items, maintaining accurate registers, coordinating correspondence and records management, supporting financial and facilities administration, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

The position requires the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality and service delivery. Success in the role will depend on building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, exercising sound judgement and initiative, and responding effectively to changing business needs. A strong focus on continuous improvement is essential, with responsibility for identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve operational efficiency, and deliver quality outcomes that support the strategic objectives of the organisation.

About you
You will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. You will build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, applying sound judgement, initiative, and decision-making skills to achieve positive outcomes. You will also contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, solving problems proactively, and delivering results within resource constraints while supporting the organisation's strategic objectives.

Essential / desirable requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Office 365 environment including MS Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills through telephone and email.
