We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This is an exciting new role to lead and support the Compliance and Enforcement function, by overseeing a team of Officers to investigate potential offences under the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 and drive proactive compliance programs.

This is a 12-months fixed-term, full-time position, located in the Brisbane CBD.

The role of Team Leader Compliance and Enforcement is to lead and mentor a high performing Compliance and Enforcement team. In this role, you will be managing a multi-skilled workforce investigating alleged offences and undertake proactive compliance monitoring with a range of stakeholders to achieve the goals set out in the RTA's Strategic Plan and Compliance and Enforcement Action Plan. This position will also manage a high-volume caseload and contribute to process development and improvement.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a high performing team through effective coaching, mentoring and professional development strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise workloads while managing staff and operational activities, particularly within a multi-skilled team with fluctuating caseloads
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft and implement procedures and work instructions
  • Experience in Compliance and Enforcement or regulatory environments is desirable.
