We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Officer to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role supports our organisation in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity of our digital infrastructure by proactively identifying vulnerabilities, implementing robust security measures and responding effectively to incidents.

This position is a permanent, full-time role located in the Brisbane CBD with generous flexible working arrangements.

The role of the Cyber Security Officer works closely with the Manager Cyber Security to support internal stakeholders to develop, maintain and promote a cyber security framework, enhance security policies, conduct or review risk assessments, review penetration test results, undertake internal threat hunting activities, monitor systems for suspicious activity, analyse potential security breaches and collaborate with Queensland Government and managed service partners.

To be successful you will need:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the implementation of cyber security controls, such as Essential Eight
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft 365 security stack (Defender XDR, Sentinel)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a high-functioning team
  • Completion of an IT degree with preferably at least 12 months of relevant work experience, or 2 years relevant work experience is desirable but not essential.
