The Minor Illness and Injury Clinic (MIIC) based at Caloundra Health Service (CHS) is a valuable and highly utilised primary health clinic, offering acute care options to low acuity illness and injury type presentations. The model within MIIC enables the community to gain immediate access to care and ongoing collaborative health management by ensuring the patients journey is managed in the appropriate setting at the appropriate time. 

The service is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our current hours of operation are 0800-2200hrs (for patient care), daily.  The NP reports to the Nurse Unit Manager MIIC (Line Manager), Clinical Director MIIC (Clinical Oversight) and the Director of Nursing CHS (Professional Lead).

The successful candidate must possess current Nurse (Division 1) registration and Australian Nurse Practitioner Endorsement with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Your key responsibilities

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being delivered, to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 8 and the Queensland Public Service values.
  • Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Remuneration value up to $177,797 p.a., comprising salary between $149,259 - $155,831 p.a. (F/T), or salary rates: $75.27 - $78.59 p.h. (P/T), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 8 (1) (Permanent full time or part time positions available; hours to be discussed).
