An exciting opportunity exists for a Social Worker - Senior to deliver high quality social work services to enhance the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision of culturally appropriate care focusing on health awareness, follow up care and advocacy. The Social Worker - Senior will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Directorate to meet clinical demand with minimum supervision and will also provide services on health promotion, illness prevention and early intervention for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate a practical understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inequities, and health issues to deliver informed, evidence based culturally appropriate care.
- Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills in the provision of client care and advocacy. Including working collaboratively and in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, health service providers and other health professionals.
- Deliver independent high level Social Work clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
Remuneration value up to $152 776 p.a., comprising salary between $124 435 - $133 901 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Full-Time, 76hrs p.f.).
