A Senior Peer Coordinator promotes and provides guidance to the development and ongoing management of consumer participation and provide systems advocacy in relation to consumer, carer and family related issues.

The Sunshine Coast Mental Health and Specialised Services (MHSS) provides hospital-based inpatient, residential, community / ambulatory mental health services and community alcohol and drug service to those living within the Sunshine Coast region.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a positive role model to consumers and staff and as a source of information on their personal experience of managing their mental health.
  • Effectively communicate with consumers, carers, professional groups, and all service providers to assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating a mental health consumer focused service.
  • Manage the operations of an organisational element which is part of the peer workforce organisational structure.

Remuneration value up to $127,235 p.a., comprising salary between $102,492 - $111,516 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO5).
