An exciting opportunity exists for a Psychologist or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist (Allied Health Clinician) who will provide a range of services for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. This service incorporates a collection of community-based programs that provide structured individual support, therapeutic intervention, and team case management for consumers with alcohol and drug related challenges and associated mental health issues. 

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise, and skill in the provision of alcohol and other drugs evidence-based therapy and counselling commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols. For complex or novel cases, you will seek direction from clinical seniors as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.
• Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $132 567 p.a., comprising salary between $79 051 - $116 189 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
