An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Paediatric Diabetes to join our dynamic and supportive team. In this advanced clinical leadership role, you’ll provide expert consultancy across inpatient and outpatient services, delivering safe, family-centred care. As a Credentialed Diabetes Educator, your advanced knowledge of diabetes management and technologies will support excellence in clinical standards and ongoing service development. You’ll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for children and adolescents living with diabetes. This role reports to the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director, Women’s and Children’s, and aligns with the Nurse Grade 7 Generic Level Statement.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values.
• Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
• Nominated as Medicine Store and S8 Safe Manager as per the Substance Management Plan for SCHHS Regulated Places, as required.
• Maintain proficiency in current and emerging diabetes technologies.

Remuneration value up to $164 212 p.a., comprising salary between $132 562 - $143 924 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG 7).
