An exciting opportunity exists for a Pharmacist Advanced Cancer Care to provide advanced level pharmaceutical services to the patients of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service in accordance with their needs and the policies and priorities of the Health Service. The Pharmacist Advanced Cancer Care will ensure the safe, effective, judicious use of medicines across the continuum of care, whilst remaining compliant with relevant regulatory statues and promoting the efficient use of public resources.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • As the Pharmacist Advanced, Team Leader you will lead, deliver, manage, and develop a specialised Cancer Care pharmacy service and consultancy services across multiple sites including the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH), Nambour General Hospital and Gympie General Hospital.
  • Provide clinical advice to patients and/or their families/carers, medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other allied health staff.
  • Provide leadership in the professional development of specialist cancer care pharmacists including competency training and assessment, professional development plans and performance management.
  • Deliver efficient and effective pharmacy service to the highest national and international standards of clinical practice complying with the following regulatory, legal, and professional requirements:
    • Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Regulation 2021
    • National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards
    • Professional Standards of Practice of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA)
    • Queensland Health Directives and SCHHS procedures
    • Good Manufacturing Practice
    • Good Clinical Practice

Remuneration value up to $14,384 p.m., comprising salary between $5557.50 - $5798.90 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (temporary position available for ten months).
