An exciting opportunity exists for the Wardsperson Theatre Officer who will be responsible for improving the patient's experience and is the focus of your daily tasks, both directly and indirectly. As a member of the surgical or interventional team you will work within in the controlled environment of the Operating Suites and Procedural Suites providing support during procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment and the effective and efficient use of resources.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

The Warsperson Theatre Officer-Operating Suites, will assist with the safe and efficient running of the Operating Suites and Procedural Suites by facilitating the movement, safe positioning and comfort of patients throughout their peri-operative experience. You will also assist team members by checking, cleaning, moving equipment, stocking items and accessing external supplies as needed.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Transfer patients to and from trolleys, correct positioning of patients on the operating/procedural tables using safe lifting practices and devices as required.
- Check equipment and clean Operating Suites/procedural areas including clearing all waste and linen after each case and as required for surgical procedures, adhering to infection controls guidelines. Maintain documentation on the cleaning of equipment.
- Check set ups and stock requirements for the area you are allocated and ensure correct equipment, position devices and Operating Suite bed configuration meets the requirements of the clinical staff.
Salary rates: $34.02- $35.66 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and salary rates: $42.52 - $44.57 p.h. (casual) (OO3) (Permanent part time, 48 hrs p.f. and Fixed term temporary part time position, 48 hrs p.f. for six months, and casual positions available).
