An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Child Health Services to provide expert clinical leadership in child, youth and family health clinical practice in line with contemporary, evidence-based models of care. The role works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager – Child, Youth and Family Health and is responsible for the clinical leadership of the child, youth and family health nursing and allied health teams, inclusive of the School Based Youth Health Nurses, in the delivery of services to support families, their children and young people across the continuum. The CNC–Child Health Services ensures clinical service delivery is continually evaluated in line with emerging trends and evidence and creates a supportive, collaborative culture of learning and research while managing clinical change proactively to meet emerging needs.

The role works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager – Child, Youth and Family Health and is responsible for the clinical leadership of the child, youth and family health nursing and allied health teams, inclusive of the School Based Youth Health Nurses, in the delivery of services to support families, their children and young people across the continuum. The CNC–Child Health Services ensures clinical service delivery is continually evaluated in line with emerging trends and evidence and creates a supportive, collaborative culture of learning and research while managing clinical change proactively to meet emerging needs.
Child, Youth and Family Health nursing teams are based across multiple community locations on the Sunshine Coast providing in clinic, outreach and in home clinical care and support to children and young people and their families. The School Based Youth Health Nurses are located at multiple state high schools across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service region.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Actively participate in advocating for families, their children and young people.
- Actively engage and participate in leading change and providing clinical leadership.
- Providing clinical mentoring and support to Child, Youth and Family Health and School Based Youth Health nurses.
- Demonstrating clinical leadership by working as part of the clinical care team in the delivery of services.
Remuneration value up to $98 527 p.a., comprising salary rates $66.85 - $72.58 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (Permanent Part-Time, 45.6 hrs p.f.).
