An exciting opportunity exists for a Nurse Practitioner – Women’s Health to join the multidisciplinary team at Gympie Hospital, supporting Obstetrics and Gynaecology services across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. As a senior clinician, the Nurse Practitioner provides expert, autonomous nursing care, prescribing medications, ordering diagnostics, and managing complex cases across the pregnancy and postpartum continuum. This role is vital in improving outcomes through collaborative, evidence-based care, with a focus on culturally appropriate service delivery, high-risk pregnancy management, early pregnancy loss, contraceptive counselling, and antenatal immunisation support.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide culturally appropriate case management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women when presenting to ensure their health needs are being met through the integration of assessment, diagnostics and management of non-pharmacological and pharmacological strategies in order to meet the objectives of closing the gap in health outcomes.
- Navigation of high- risk women and/or neonates with complex medical and surgical care needs both during pregnancy and post -partum. Collaboration with stakeholders both public and private to facilitate strategic management of high-risk women/neonates in pregnancy and the post-partum period.
- Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of interdepartmental communication.
- Use extended scope of Nurse Practitioner practice and skills to provide comprehensive assessment, history and physical examination. Initiate, implement and monitor interventional therapies. Prescribe medications, order, initiate and interpret diagnostic pathology and radiology.
Remuneration value up to $177 797 p.a., comprising salary between $149 259 - $155 831 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG 8).
