An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist- Senior. As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).
The SCHHS Geriatric Evaluation and Management/Rehabilitation Hospital In The Home (GEM/R HITH) initiative is a 8-bed multidisciplinary (MDT) hospital avoidance strategy that provides sub-acute care to admitted patients of the SCHHS in their permanent or temporary residence. The GEM/R HITH service sits within the existing HITH service and manages all aspects of patient care including clinical governance, monitoring, and acute illness management that would otherwise require treatment in a physical hospital bed. The GEM/R HITH MDT service is based at SCUH and provides care to residents within a 50km radius of SCUH at this time.
Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.
The SCHHS GEM/R HITH service works to alleviate bed pressures, increase patient flow and improve patient outcomes by delivering care to patients who have sub-acute, rehabilitation and geriatric evaluation and management needs in their home. Occupational therapy clinicians within the GEM/R HITH service work with the MDT to meet clinical demand, in keeping with the occupational therapy Clinical Prioritisation Document.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated.
Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $157,359 p.a., comprising salary rates: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Fixed Term temporary part time position available for 12 months with possibility of extension, hrs negotiable). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
