An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Safety Improvement Support Officer (SISO) to join the Caloundra Health and Community and Preventative Health (CHCPH) team. This role provides expert leadership and clinical support to multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and safety outcomes. You’ll lead and support initiatives in clinical incident management, quality improvement, service planning, and patient safety activities aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. The CNC SISO also plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety, supporting accreditation processes, and ensuring consumer feedback and risk issues are managed effectively across the CHCPH directorate.

Key Responsibilities include:
- In collaboration with the Clinical / Nursing Director of the Directorate / Facility provides expert advice and leadership support to develop, maintain and monitor the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement program for the Directorate / Facility. The key focus on the role for the Directorate / Facility is to:
- Develop and implement the Patient Safety and Quality priorities
- Support directorate / facility patient safety and quality improvement reporting
- Ensure robust incident reporting processes, including investigations, learning and effectiveness assurance mechanisms, are in place to improve and learn from patient safety events.
- Support quality improvement and patient safety across the Directorate / Facility.
- Support the implementation and sustainability of the National Standards across all units.
Remuneration value up to $164,212 p.a., comprising salary between $132,562 - $143,924 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (temporary position available for 12 months). Applications will remain current for 12 months / the duration of the vacancy.
