An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Nurse is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. The AODS multidisciplinary team provides a range of services for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. This service incorporates a collection of community-based programs that provide structured individual support, therapeutic intervention, and team case management for consumers with alcohol and drug related challenges and associated mental health issues.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.
The AODS multidisciplinary team provides a range of services for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. This service incorporates a collection of community-based programs that provide structured individual support, therapeutic intervention, and team case management for consumers with alcohol and drug related challenges and associated mental health issues.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, care and treatment for people identified with alcohol and drug problems: clinical assessment, risk assessment, case-management, problem solving, brief intervention and micro-counselling skills.
- Provide a range of clinical assessment and treatment skills, including offering individual engagement with consumers in the form of cognitive behavioural informed therapies and facilitation of community therapeutic groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in delivering phone intake and referral, support and advice to service providers, delivery of Needle and Syringe Program (NSP), Queensland Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), facilitating psychoeducation groups and Counselling and Therapy (CAT).
- Provide effective assessment, planning, management and evaluation of client outcomes at an advanced level which supports harm reduction responses that build the community with the lowest possible levels of alcohol and other drug related harm.
- Provide leadership within the AOD which supports the meeting of unit specific, service and organisational goals and key performance indicators.
Remuneration value up to $65 950 p.a., comprising salary rates $54.44 - $58.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (part time position, 38 hrs p.f.).
