An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) - Supporting Healthier Pregnancies to join the team and be a part of the implementation of Supporting Healthier Pregnancy Initiative under the Putting Queensland Kids First Strategy to improve the current and future health of pregnant people and their children through strengthening preventive health care and recommended screening during routine public antenatal care, with clear pathways to ongoing support. The CMC is expected to demonstrate an advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice and decision making in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
The role will work across service streams and groups to support seamless pathways for women experiencing vulnerabilities in pregnancy. The CMC will work in partnership with the midwifery, medical, Child Health and Children's Plus teams to provide support and service responsiveness.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively across the antenatal, postnatal and child health teams to streamline timely access to required supports for pregnant people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to sustainably improve screening and preventive health practices and embed systems for antenatal care.
- Contribute to building capacity and systems for vulnerable women, chronic disease, and future health risk screening of pregnant women in public antenatal care services across the state, with clear support pathways.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values.
Remuneration value up to $164 212 p.a., comprising salary between $132 562 - $143 924 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG7).
