An exciting opportunity exists for an Orthoptist Senior to deliver orthoptic clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health, in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Health Service (SCH).

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Deliver independent high level Orthoptic clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence;
•  Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery;
• Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Orthoptist practitioners and students as delegated; and
• Take a leadership role in the monitoring of professional clinical standards and outcomes, service improvement activities, Performance and Development Plans (PDP), quality activities, evidence-based practice, clinical research programs.

Remuneration value up to $157 359 p.a., comprising salary between $128 169 - $137 918 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
