An exciting opportunity exists for a Workplace Rehabilitation Officer to join our Rehabilitation Return to Work team. The purpose of the role is to coordinate work related and non-work-related injury and illness rehabilitation and return to work services across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This role has a focus on early intervention and improving safe and sustainable return to work outcomes to reduce workplace injury, claims costs and durations. In this role, you will also provide advice and support to staff, team leaders and senior management, as well as partnering with external stakeholders to minimise the impact of injury/illness and assist the prompt, safe and sustainable return to work of our employees.

This role has a focus on early intervention and improving safe and sustainable return to work outcomes to reduce workplace injury, claims costs and durations. In this role, you will also provide advice and support to staff, team leaders and senior management, as well as partnering with external stakeholders to minimise the impact of injury/illness and assist the prompt, safe and sustainable return to work of our employees.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide rehabilitation and return to work end to end case management that is person centred and considers cost-effective solutions to facilitate safe and sustainable outcomes for workers participating in return to work programs.
- Consult with injured or ill workers, medical and allied health practitioners and other relevant stakeholders to identify early intervention measures in coordinating cases from end to end, monitoring progress and adjusting return to work plans as required to minimise the impact of injury and achieve claim goals.
- Provide person centred case management of injured workers, including support in reviewing cases and updating injury management plans and assist in developing requests for medical reports as required from treating or independent medical and allied health practitioners.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of rehabilitation and return to work policies, guidelines and templates.
Remuneration value up to $114 177 p.a, comprising salary between $90 832 - $100 071 p.a, employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
