Emergency Physiotherapy Practitioners contribute to a 7-day extended hours primary contact physiotherapy service within the Emergency Department at Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, delivering advanced practice physiotherapy clinical services and professional leadership. Clinical services encompass the timely, quality and efficient management of musculoskeletal injuries presenting to emergency care, including fractures, dislocations and orthopaedic trauma. Clinicians have a key role in the education and training of the Emergency Department multi-disciplinary team in musculoskeletal assessment and role requisite skills, including plastering, bracing and acute injury protocols.
Emergency Physiotherapy Practitioner clinicians within AH Physiotherapy work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff will be required to work across other clinical services and facilities within Physiotherapy as required to assist in meeting patient care needs, managing leave cover, and succession planning of staff. Staff may be required to rotate across SCH as per Allied Health Rotation Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with the operational managers, Discipline Directors and multidisciplinary Allied Health teams to implement clinical governance requirements that align with the Allied Health Governance Framework and Business Rules.
- Foster a culture of ongoing professional development for staff by collaborating with the Clinical Educator and / or Discipline Directors / Operational Managers to identify, initiate, develop and participate in clinical education programs within Allied Health and across multidisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate and contribute to clinical research projects of significant scope and clinical importance and provide Allied Health leadership and support to Allied Health staff of the service/facility, the relevant discipline / MDT, Department of Health, Innovation, Quality and Research and Education (IQRE) group; seeking outcomes that influence standards of clinical practice and the delivery of services.
- Collaborate with others to lead change through service-wide quality and service improvement activities, such as the collaborative development and implementation of [discipline] clinical practices and guidelines.
Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent Part-Time value up to $67 320 p.a., comprising salary rates: $73.12 - $76.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (Temporary Part-Time position available for 12 months, 30 hrs p.f.).
