We're excited to welcome the Patient Support Assistant (PSA) to our Operational Support Services team.

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

As a Patient Support Assistant improving the patient's experience is the focus of your daily tasks, both directly and indirectly. You will provide a safe environment by ensuring its cleanliness and provide staff with ready access to clean linen, material and equipment. You will have the opportunity to interact with patients by moving them safely throughout the hospital and assist the clinical team to position and support their patients during treatment and care.

Operational Support includes the Environmental Services and Food Services.  Environmental Services provides the resources to support cleaning, linen supply, waste collection and staff for patient movement (porterage). Food Services is specifically responsible for the production and delivery of meals including menu planning and management, the preparation of patient meals, stocking of unit pantries and beverage bays throughout the facility. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks as per task specification / procedures list.
  • Assist clinical staff to position and support patients during treatment and care.

Salary rates: $39.05 - $41.66 p.h. (OO2) (casual positions available). Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
